- Page views — basic analytics to understand how the product is used
Platform analytics (operator only)
As the platform operator CHANNEL may access aggregated and anonymised usage data across all restaurants on the platform. This includes total order volumes, QR code scan counts, menu item popularity and category trends. This data is used for:
- Improving the CHANNEL product and features
- Publishing anonymised weekly industry insights at www.qchannel.live/insights.html — no restaurant names or customer data is ever included in public reports
- Understanding platform-wide food trends to help restaurant owners make better menu decisions
- Internal business reporting and product development
Individual restaurant data is never shared publicly or with other restaurants. All public insights reports are fully anonymised — no restaurant names, customer names, emails or personally identifiable information is ever published.
3. How we store your data
All data is stored in Supabase, a secure cloud database provider. Data is encrypted at rest and in transit. Supabase servers are hosted on AWS infrastructure.
Restaurant photos and logos are stored in Supabase Storage. We do not store payment card details — all payments are processed by Stripe or Paystack who handle security and PCI compliance.
4. Who we share your data with
We do not sell your data. Ever. We share data only with these service providers who help us operate CHANNEL:
- Supabase — database and authentication
- Vercel — website hosting
- Stripe — payment processing for international cards
- Paystack — payment processing for African markets including Mobile Money
- Google — optional Google sign-in via OAuth
- Formspree — contact form submissions
- CHANNEL Admin Console — an internal tool accessible only to the platform operator (Manuel Sarpong) used to monitor platform health, detect abuse, and generate anonymised insights reports
Each provider has their own privacy policy and security practices. We only share the minimum data necessary for each service to work.
